IDEMIA has long been one of the biggest players in cutting-edge technologies, with activities spanning across biometrics, mobile devices, connectivity, and much more. The company always has much to discuss at Mobile World Congress, and this year’s big event in Barcelona is no exception.
On the show floor, FindBiometrics President Peter O’Neill had the opportunity to catch up with IDEMIA’s Connected Objects Business Unit head Yves Portalier to discuss some of the company’s items of note for this year. They started off by talking about IDEMIA’s “ARENA Experience” showcase, which highlighted how various mobile and biometric technologies could be used to enhance the visitor experience at sports stadiums and other large-scale venues; and they proceeded to touch on other cutting-edge technological pursuits including biometric technology for the automotive industry, biometric payments cards, and – Peter’s favorite – the MorphoWave contactless fingerprint scanner.
