“Dubbed Fast Pass by IdentoGO, the expanded solution has the same basis, requiring the registration of fingerprints and other data ahead of time, but now enables faster security screening at participating event venues.”
MorphoTrust is expanding its TSA Pre-Check biometric pre-screening system to concerts and other entertainment venues, the company has announced.
The system has long been offered to air travelers in collaboration with the TSA, enabling participants to register their biometrics, along with the usual biographic information, so that they can be quickly screened and processed at participating airports. The program has seen the enrollment of over two million individuals, and could see further growth as MorphoTrust expands it beyond air travel.
Dubbed Fast Pass by IdentoGO, the expanded solution has the same basis, requiring the registration of fingerprints and other data ahead of time, but now enables faster security screening at participating event venues. It was trialed last year at events like Louisville’s Forecastle Music Festival and multiple Live Nation events, collecting garnering more than 2,000 new registrants. Looking ahead, MorphoTrust says Fast Pass is going to expand with more concerts and festivals, as well as sports events.
It will face a bit of competition in the latter area, with CLEAR offering a rival biometric screening program at multiple major sports stadiums as well as in air travel. But the increasing competition may be seen as a sign of growth, as the use of biometric security continues to expand in everyday life.
