MorphoTrak‘s CEO is a winner in SecureIDNews.com and re:ID’s inaugural Women in Biometric Identity Awards. At a reception last week, Celeste Thomasson joined four other recipients in receiving the distinction.
Thomasson is indeed highly accomplished in the field. Having assumed her position as CEO of MorphoTrak (Safran) near the start of 2014, she has steered the company through important initiatives such as expanding MorphoTrak’s Alexandria, VA. facility; deepening the company’s partnership with West Virginia State University; and enhancing engineering resources in the state – all while ensuring that MorphoTrak technology remains one of the best-testing brands in the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s trials. She has also overseen the hiring of strong talent at the company, such as Teresa Wu, who became MorphoTrak’s Director of Strategic Marketing and Government Relations this summer. And on top of her accomplishments within the company, Thomasson supports the Secure Identity and Biometrics Association (SIBA) and the Security Industry Association (SIA), and is on the board of the International Biometrics & Identification Association (IBIA).
Accepting her award, Thomasson said she was honored to have been chosen, and offered her congratulations to her fellow recipients. But she emphasized the importance of the industry more broadly, which she said “has the potential for great advances in nearly every facet of life”, and affirmed her role with MorphoTrak in realizing that potential. “I look forward to continuing to lead MorphoTrak as we achieve new, market-changing biometric solutions,” she said.
