Morpho (Safran)’s SecureIdentity platform has gone live in the UK.
It’s a digital identity platform supporting GOV.UK Verify, a government program aimed at providing British citizens with online access to government services. SecureIdentity operates via a mobile app; after an initial 10-minute registration process, citizens can then use their smartphones for fast, ready access to services such as tax filing and the like through GOV.UK Verify.
It’s one of a number of major initiatives undertaken by Morpho recently as the company seeks to better establish itself in the mobile sector. In addition to providing identity solutions aimed primarily at the private sector, such as its mobile facial biometrics solution, the company was also recently tapped for a large-scale mobile security solution by the Norwegian government.
Commenting on the activation of SecureIdentity, MorphoUK Managing Director Paul Naldrett said, “We are very pleased to join the GOV.UK Verify program and are especially proud to be the first identity provider to go live under the new framework for certified companies,” adding, “This is another significant step for Morpho, adding to our extensive portfolio of 55 ID projects around the world.”
