Global biometrics provider Morpho (Safran) will be launching a new long range iris and face biometrics solution at this month’s GITEX 2013 in Dubai (October 20-24). It’s called Morpho IAD (Iris at a Distance) and it can capture iris and face data for either enrollment or verification at a distance of one meter.
Morpho IAD performs both authentication and enrollment in one second and is designed for applications in border control, access control and flow management in sectors that require fast and contactless biometric imaging.
Earlier this year the iris algorithm belonging to Morpho company MorphoTrust USA was singled out by NIST as the most accurate on a consistent basis while maintaining among the highest speeds available during the IREX evaluations that revealed longer term viability of iris imaging biometrics. No-contact biometrics are perfect for managing access in large populations where the spread of bacteria and viruses is a concern, like Winthrop University, which uses its EagleEye Stations to monitor student attendance and provide campus security.
