Today, voice biometrics company AGNITiO announced that it has entered a technology partnership with Morpho (Safran), a major global security solutions provider. The new agreement will bring voice biometrics technology into the fight to identify criminals all over the world.
AGNITiO’s Voice iD technology will be added to Morpho’s line of criminal ID biometric products, allowing investigators the world over to identify suspects and perform background verification in particularly difficult situations. In cases that only offer investigators voice evidence, AGNITiO’s biometric technology can be employed to successfully identify suspected and wanted criminals the world over.
As part of Morpho’s line of criminal justice technologies, AGNITiO’s voice recognition will bolster an increasingly comprehensive multi-modal biometric law enforcement technologies. Thomas Chenevier, senior vice president of Products and Innovation at Morpho notes, “Our Criminal Justice Suite provides an extensive solution for criminal investigation, already leveraging fingerprint, palmprint, face and DNA technologies.”
The Voice iD technology now offered through Morpho is a particularly great fit on a global scales. Because of the language agnostic nature of AGNITiO’s technology, a match can be made based specifically on the biological traits expressed through a suspect’s voice rather than speech patterns.
Philippe Vinci, AGNITiO’s executive vice president of Sales and Marketing, comments on the partnership, saying: “Morpho’s biometric products have successfully helped many investigations; however, as criminals become more sophisticated, new law enforcement tools are required.”
“Voice iD is extremely accurate, beyond 99 percent, and requires only a few seconds of a live or recorded voice to search and make a match,” continued Vinci. “With Morpho Criminal ID solutions, law enforcement officers will have new valuable information in real time.”
Biometrics have a long history with law enforcement and justice operations. As the range of biometric technologies becomes increasingly diverse, expect the integration into criminal ID offerings to increase.
