Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) is launching a new digital platform called E-Police to modernize and streamline police administrative services. The platform, scheduled to go live on December 20, 2024, consolidates various police services into a single digital portal, building upon the country’s recent partnership with IDEMIA for biometric national ID cards that was established to accelerate Morocco’s digital transformation.
The E-Police platform allows citizens to submit applications for services like anthropometric records using their electronic national identity cards. Through integrated advanced digital tools, the system provides remote identity verification and processing of requests. This implementation leverages the biometric capabilities of Morocco’s new national ID infrastructure, which was specifically designed to support the expansion of secure digital government services.
Key features of the platform include digitized application processes, remote identity verification capabilities, and electronic notifications when documents are ready for collection at the user’s chosen registration center. The system aims to reduce waiting times and eliminate unnecessary travel for citizens accessing police services, representing a significant step forward in Morocco’s broader e-government initiative.
Initial services available through E-Police include scheduling appointments for electronic national identity cards, registering for police recruitment examinations, and requesting anthropometric records. The DGSN has indicated plans to expand the platform’s capabilities over time to include additional services such as residency certificates.
