“In announcing the new solution, Mitek and JanusID emphasized its compliance with the European Union’s recently implemented GDPR regulation…”
Mitek‘s Mobile Verify ID solution has been integrated into a new white label app for customer onboarding.
Developed by JanusID, a Netherlands-based firm focused on web authentication solutions, the app is called “CheckedID”. It leverages Mitek’s authentication technology to scan end users’ selfie images, and match them against their official ID documents, allowing for remote identity verification on mobile. It can also confirm the authenticity of e-documents using the NFC reader technology available on many Android devices.
In announcing the new solution, Mitek and JanusID emphasized its compliance with the European Union’s recently implemented GDPR regulation, suggesting that the companies are focusing their marketing on the European region. The companies assert that CheckedID’s “verification workflow is delivered to customers in a secure, GDPR-compliant report, which can act as proof that the verification process has been thoroughly executed and meets regulatory requirements.”
In any case, the new app capitalizes on a growing trend, with this kind of selfie-based remote onboarding solution becoming increasingly popular among a range of businesses, perhaps especially in the financial services sector. And with Mitek and JanusID emphasizing that their app can be customized to any business’s branding, CheckedID could prove to be particularly popular among European businesses seeking a GDPR-compliant solution.
