Malaysia’s MiHCM has added facial recognition capabilities to its MiHCM Mobile time management solution. The feature will allow employees to clock in with a facial recognition scan, both when they are at the office or when they are working remotely or in the field.
The platform was built to promote a safer work environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the addition of facial recognition, MiHCM is able to replace contact-based tracking technologies like PIN pads and key cards with contactless biometrics.
MiHCM Mobile supplements facial recognition with geolocation and geo-fencing utilities. The comprehensive time management tool can also be used to submit (and approve) time sheets and any requests for leave and overtime.
“As businesses implement safety practices to combat COVID-19, facial recognition will be imperative to ensure employee safety while capturing attendance,” said MiHCM Founder and CEO Harsha Purasinghe. “By eliminating the need to physically contact the capturing devices, we hope that MiHCM Mobile App will help businesses immensely during this period.”
MiHCM Mobile can be deployed alongside a company’s existing HR system, or in conjunction with MiHCM Cloud Digital HR. The latter offers more advanced analytics and consolidates all of a company’s employee management operations into one centralized system.
The update reflects the increasing demand for contactless technology in the wake of COVID-19. MiHCM Mobile is comparable to several other attendance solutions currently on the market, including Invixium’s Titan biometric terminal and Suprema’s new Mobile Access application.
