The iris recognition market has been heating up thanks in large part to the pioneering efforts of Samsung, which has put the technology front and center in its newest flagship smartphones. It’s no surprise, then, that the key supplier of Samsung’s iris biometric technology, Princeton Identity, has attracted a lot of attention at this year’s Money20/20 in Las Vegas.
Reporting live from the event, FindBiometrics President Peter O’Neill had the opportunity to speak with Princeton Identity CEO Mark Clifton on the show floor, in a discussion that offered tantalizing hints about where Princeton Identity is headed. After some opening remarks about authentication at the Point of Sale, Clifton hinted at applications in novel methods of employee retention, and he went on discuss new appointments who bring expertise in fintech and access control to the iris scanning specialist.
