Manulife Indonesia has unveiled its new Manulife ID application, a comprehensive digital platform that incorporates biometric authentication and digital identity verification for insurance services. The platform, which represents a rebranding of the previous MiAccount system, integrates fingerprint and facial recognition technology to secure user access while following the company’s broader digital transformation strategy implemented across its global operations.
The newly launched application offers customers a range of features designed to enhance their insurance management experience. Available on both Android and iOS devices, Manulife ID enables users to access policy information, track status updates, check policy values, and monitor claims in real-time. The platform also facilitates online premium payments and allows customers to update their personal information and modify investment fund allocations directly through the application.
Security features include biometric authentication, aligning with industry standards for financial services applications. The platform implements fingerprint and facial recognition technology similar to those used in modern authentication systems, providing enhanced protection for sensitive financial and personal information.
The platform’s development follows similar digital initiatives by insurance providers across Southeast Asia, where mobile-first solutions have become increasingly important for customer engagement. According to Manulife, the application’s features were developed based on extensive customer feedback and usage data from its previous digital platforms.
While the initial rollout is focused on the Indonesian market, the platform’s architecture has been designed to potentially expand to other regions where Manulife operates. The company has indicated plans to continue developing additional features based on user feedback and emerging technological capabilities.
