“News of the partnership comes soon after Pindrop’s announcement in January of a new caller identification system for the enterprise called Deep Voice…”
British e-commerce giant Shop Direct has embraced Pindrop’s Phoneprinting technology, the companies have announced.
The solution is being used to help speed up the authentication process in Shop Direct’s call centers, and to fight fraud. Its technology is designed to assess a range of metrics including voice, background noise, and location in order to establish what Pindrop calls an ‘audio fingerprint’ of a given call, which can be used to identify potential fraud attempts and thwart such attacks. And, as Pindrop EMEA Research Director Nick Gaubitch explained in a statement announcing the deployment, the system “can also identify multiple callers associated with the same phone number, allowing the detection and tracking of fraud rings.”
In its announcement, Pindrop indicated that the deployment involves a collaboration with Aeriandi, which it described as a “voice security provider”. Together, it said, the firms are providing Shop Direct “multi-factor protection for customers on the phone.”
News of the partnership comes soon after Pindrop’s announcement in January of a new caller identification system for the enterprise called Deep Voice, which is based on voice recognition and behavioral biometrics.
