LumenVox has joined forces with South Africa’s OneVault to bring better voice biometric technology to the African market. The partnership will allow OneVault to integrate LumenVox’s voice biometric algorithms into its existing authentication offerings, which can be used to secure a wide variety of different channels and applications.
On that front, the two companies are already working on new technology initiatives with South African Fraud Prevention Services (SAFPS) and Contactable. OneVault and LumenVox noted that more and more businesses are searching for remote authentication options, and that voice biometrics is well positioned to fulfill that role.
“I am confident we can fill a major gap within the biometrics market, specifically when it comes to tailored integration,” said LumenVox CEO Edward Miller.
“We are thrilled to be working with LumenVox to deliver cutting-edge biometric modalities that provide customers with a convenient and secure channel,” added OneVault CEO Paul Hutton.
The alliance builds on LumenVox’s early momentum in 2020. The company released the eighth version of its biometric authentication suite back in January, and has since provided Germany’s CCT Solutions with voice recognition technology for its call center operations. CCT became an official LumenVox reseller as part of that deal.
LumenVox Version 8 includes a faster authentication engine and a Fraud Scanner that automatically matches voiceprints against a database of known fraudsters. The company’s Active Voice Authentication was added to the Genesys AppFoundry last month, and Meticulous Research has identified it as one of the key players in the voice recognition space. The arrangement with OneVault should further expand LumenVox’s international presence, and create new opportunities for both companies in the African market.
In the past, OneVault teamed up with Nuance Communications to provide voice biometrics for a South African bank. It’s unclear if the company’s new partnership with LumenVox will have any impact on that 2015 agreement.
