Live in Las Vegas: Meet With FindBiometrics’ Doug OGorden at ISC West 2021

FindBiometrics will be bringing you reporting of this year’s ISC West conference – running July 19-21 – from the show floor in Las Vegas. Doug OGorden, our Media Sales & Strategy Manager, will be on-site at the Sands Expo Center, and will be speaking with exhibitors to give our readers a look at the latest and greatest developments in the security industry.

ISC West is the world’s preeminent converged security conference, with a reputation of setting the bar for biometrics and identity discourse, particularly regarding new technology and trends in the enterprise sector. Given the state of digital transformation and the role biometrics are playing in re-opening strategies around the world, the 2021 conference stands to once again define the security market roadmap.

“ISC West is the first big security industry show in over a year where live humans will be interacting safely, and that’s exciting,” OGorden said. “We’re all coming back into the world trying to re-open in this mobile, touchless manner, and that means heavy growth for the biometrics and digital identity industries.” 

The latest member of the FindBiometric team, OGorden has been attending ISC West for more than 15 years, and is a well-established media presence on the security trade show circuit. He previously served as the Associate Publisher of BNP Media’s Security Technology & Safety Group, where he co-created the Security500 Report, and launched both the SDMGala networking event and I-Security, the latter of which was the first virtual trade show in company history. 

More recently, OGorden worked with Cobalt Robotics to bring the company’s Robots-as-a-Service solution to the Midwest as the VP of Business Development for the region. He is currently the Sales & Marketing Liaison for the Tech AI & Robots consultancy in Chicago. At ISC West, he will be conducting short interviews in an effort to showcase the new technologies that will have a direct impact on people’s lives as we emerge from COVID-19. 

“When I first started going to ISC West, it was ‘guards, guns and gates’ – that was the way to protect your business,” OGorden continued. “We’ve gone from that reactive position to a predictive one, where you’re using video data, access control data, and identity-first technologies to get ahead of the next threat before it happens. I’m excited to go back to ISC West to talk to integrators and vendors and figure out how we’re going to get back to work.”
