LexisNexis Risk Solutions has released an enhanced version of its LexisNexis IDVerse platform, adding new capabilities aimed at detecting deepfakes, synthetic identities, and manipulated identity documents while shortening the onboarding journey for legitimate users. The company says the update brings next-generation document and biometric verification for financial services, gaming, retail, telecommunications and other sectors that rely on remote identity proofing.
The upgraded IDVerse uses proprietary artificial intelligence models for both document authentication and biometric verification. On the document side, a video-based capture process is paired with a Camera AI module that stitches optical character recognition data across frames, optimizes lighting and focus, and detects document positioning. LexisNexis argues that this approach improves text capture accuracy and makes it harder for attackers to inject AI-generated or altered images into the verification flow.
On the biometric side, IDVerse combines face matching with liveness checks and a server-side deepfake detection engine designed to spot sophisticated impersonation attempts without forcing users through additional gestures or challenges. A new conceal mode hides the user’s own image during selfie capture, which the company says not only improves the user experience but also supports more accurate liveness detection and reduces abandonment. The system is positioned as accessible to users with a range of abilities and interaction preferences.
LexisNexis highlights global coverage as a differentiator, stating that IDVerse can recognize and extract data from government-issued photo identification documents from more than 220 countries and territories, with support for over 140 languages and typesets. The user journey has also been compressed into a six-screen flow, eliminating several steps from the previous design to reduce friction and speed up account opening.
From an architectural perspective, the platform is closely tied into the LexisNexis Dynamic Decision Platform. Through a single API, customers can orchestrate device risk analysis, digital identity profiling, behavioural pattern analysis, suspicious activity monitoring, and identity verification within a unified decisioning workflow, rather than managing separate point solutions. For CISOs and fraud leaders, the enhancements reflect an industry push toward integrated risk orchestration that can better withstand generative AI enabled attacks while maintaining conversion rates in high-value digital channels.
