LexisNexis Risk Solutions Expands Identity Verification Suite Within Epic Connection Hub

LexisNexis Risk Solutions said it is expanding its integration with Epic through Epic Connection Hub, adding more identity verification options for hospitals and health systems that use Epic MyChart patient portals.

The company said the expanded suite builds on existing Epic-connected tools, including InstantID Q&A and Instant Verify, and adds access to IDVerse, its AI-driven platform for document and biometric verification. LexisNexis said IDVerse can authenticate identity documents and biometrics while helping detect deepfakes, forgeries and related fraud. Health systems using Epic can combine those components based on their own risk policies, rather than relying on a single verification path.

The move puts more biometric and document-based controls inside a workflow that is central to digital healthcare access. MyChart logins are now tied to scheduling, payments, records access and messaging, which means identity errors can quickly become fraud or privacy problems. LexisNexis said the Epic integration is designed to give providers a more secure route into those services while limiting friction for legitimate patients.

Earlier this year, LexisNexis launched IDVerse for insurance, and in December it upgraded IDVerse for deepfake and document fraud detection. Bringing that stack into Epic gives the company a more direct route into healthcare identity workflows, where providers have to balance account security, regulatory exposure and patient experience.

Epic is a major software channel for U.S. healthcare organizations, and Connection Hub offers a way for external identity vendors to reach production workflows without pitching one hospital at a time. That makes the LexisNexis move a practical example of biometric and document verification shifting from edge security tools into embedded platform features.

That channel effect is important. Healthcare identity programs often stall when verification vendors need to integrate separately with each customer environment. By packaging the expanded suite through Epic Connection Hub, LexisNexis is effectively turning a specialist fraud and identity stack into a more standardized option for providers that want stronger patient authentication without building a custom orchestration layer of their own.
