Fingerprint Cards is enjoying two new high-profile smartphone integrations of its fingerprint scanning technology, the company has announced. Its FPC1025 sensor is now featured in Lenovo’s new [Lemon] X3 and [Lemon] X3 Youth devices.
In a statement, FPC CEO Jörgen Lantto called Lenovo “a leading global smartphone manufacturer” and asserted, “we are proud that Lenovo selected FPC1025 for X3 and X3 Youth.” Indeed, Lenovo is a major player in the smartphone market, and could attain an even higher profile as it seeks to resurrect the Motorola brand; its newest smartphones should therefore offer a good showcase for FPC technology.
The FPC1025 sensor has also recently been featured in Hauwei’s Honor 5X, the Coolpad Note 3, and ZTE’s Axon Mini. FPC’s Lantto noted that it “supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality.”
It’s another feather – or two – in FPC’s cap as the company continues to profit from the ongoing boom in the smartphone biometrics market, and many more such integrations should be expected.
