“Twenty-five vb e-pass enrollment units have been deployed at Traffic, Trucks and Vehicles Management Authority service centers across the country.”
Lebanon’s driver’s license authority is taking advantage of biometric identity technology from Vision-Box.
The company has announced that, together with local partner Inkript, it is providing a biometric enrollment system for the country’s Traffic, Trucks and Vehicles Management Authority, enabling the agency to issue driver’s licenses that feature embedded biometric data to citizens. Twenty-five vb e-pass enrollment units have been deployed at Traffic, Trucks and Vehicles Management Authority service centers across the country.
The units are designed to capture facial and fingerprint biometrics in under 30 seconds, are designed to automatically adjust camera height and lighting, and adhere to ICAO and NIST standards. The biometric data can then be encrypted for storage on an electronic chip that can be embedded in a given driver’s license.
News of the deployment comes amid continuing activity on Vision-Box’s part in providing automated biometric traveler processing solutions at partner airports, and while the Lebanon project certainly isn’t the company’s first foray into next-generation driver’s licenses, it helps to illustrate the versatility of Vision-Box’s biometric technologies.
