Zwipe has announced that a “leading U.S.-based social media and IT company” is currently testing its Zwipe Access biometric cards. The testing is facilitated through the social media company’s strategic technology partner, with the aim of potentially deploying the solution across its global facilities to enhance security measures.
Zwipe, listed on the stock exchanges of Oslo and Stockholm, focuses on secure biometric authentication solutions for access control, identification, and payment systems. The Zwipe Access card is a fingerprint-enabled dual-authentication solution designed specifically for access control.
All fingerprint capture, extraction, and comparison processes occur entirely on the card itself, ensuring that biometric data never leaves the card. This approach aims to enhance data privacy and security, and significantly reduce the risk of security breaches in both physical and digital environments.
By implementing this technology, the social media company aims to ensure that sensitive credentials are protected and accessible only by authorized personnel. The biometric cards provide enhanced protection without the need for extensive and costly hardware upgrades, offering both increased security and potential savings in capital expenditure.
“In today’s digital age, secured identity and authentication are more important than ever,” said Robert Puskaric, President and CEO of Zwipe. “We are immensely proud for a potential partnership with such a prominent global leader in the tech industry.”
Earlier this year, Zwipe announced a partnership with Plasticard – ZFT to distribute its biometric access cards in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Plasticard – ZFT manufactures plastic cards, smart cards, and ID media. That collaboration aims to meet the increasing demand for enhanced safety and security in access control solutions.
