Laxton Unveils New Multimodal Biometrics Solution Ahead of SDW 2019

The government identity-focused SDW exhibition is slated to begin next week, and Laxton Group has taken the opportunity to launch a new device in its Chameleon Biometrics product line.

Dubbed the Chameleon D, the new offering is a multimodal device designed for the desktop. It supports single- and two-fingerprint scanning as well as 4+4+2 slap scanning; and it’s also capable of iris and face scanning as well as voice recognition.

Other features of the Chameleon D include an NFC/RFID smart card reader; an IC contact card reader; barcode, A4 document, and MRZ scanners, and a signature pad with stylus. The device runs on Windows 10 and an Intel Apollo Lake N3450 / Intel Atom x7-E3950 processor.

In a statement announcing the device, Laxton EMEA President Nick Perkins boasted that it’s “without question the most adaptable integrated desktop device in the world,” adding, “It will further bolster the highly successful Chameleon8 and Chameleon5 product ranges.”

Laxton will showcase the Chameleon D from booth S9 during SDW 2019, which is slated to run from June 11th to 13th.
