Jumio has announced that its liveness detection technology met ISO/IEC 30107-3 Level 2 requirements for Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) in testing conducted by iBeta, a NIST/NVLAP‑accredited laboratory.
Level 2 evaluations include attempts such as high‑resolution photos, screen replays, and 3D masks. Conformance reflects performance under the lab’s test conditions and does not guarantee results in all environments. iBeta PAD testing is widely used across the industry for independent verification.
“Liveness detection sits at the core of trust in digital identity,” said Bala Kumar, Jumio’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, adding that the company’s in‑house technology passed the Level 2 tests.
Jumio also noted that its premium offering uses active illumination to address threats such as deepfakes and injection; those features are separate from PAD conformance. Other vendors, including Imageware and ID R&D, have reported similar certifications.
