Jumio is hoping to pick up a few new customers after signing a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro’s Emerging Business Group (EBG). The deal specifically concerns the US and Latin American markets, where Ingram Micro will act as an official Jumio reseller and push the company’s various identity verification solutions to its own channel partners in the region.
Jumio, of course, is best known as a provider of biometric onboarding and authentication technology. The company’s automated solutions can run on a standard smartphone, and use face and document recognition to match a selfie to the image on a photo ID. The streamlined process helps businesses improve their conversion rates, and also allows them to detect fraud and comply with their Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering obligations.
In that regard, Ingram Micro suggested that its channel partners will benefit from improved workflows and will generally run more efficiently once they implement a more modern identity verification system. As a result, those companies will be able to focus on their core business and provide better service to their customers.
“We are thrilled that our alliance with Ingram Micro will help position Jumio to better meet the business needs of our channel partners and expand our reach, sales and technical enablement resources,” said Jumio CRO Dean Hickman-Smith.
“We’re pleased to play an increasingly important role within Jumio’s go-to-market strategy,” added Ingram Micro EBG Vendor Management Director Donald Scott. “Together with our channel partners we are simplifying complex technologies and putting technology to work for businesses of all sizes.”
Jumio is now processing more than 1 million identity verification requests on a daily basis, and recently entered into new strategic partnerships with Veridium and Copper River IT. Ingram Micro, meanwhile, has installed the ViewScan weapon detection system to prevent theft at its physical distribution facilities.
