Jumio Expands selfie.DONE Reusable Identity to Latin America

Jumio has extended its selfie.DONE reusable identity product across Latin America, accelerating a global rollout of a technology that allows previously verified users to authenticate instantly using only a selfie, without re-submitting government-issued identity documents for subsequent onboarding or authentication events.

The Latin America expansion builds on a Brazil-only launch that Jumio launched selfie.DONE in Brazil last October, initially targeting the country’s gaming and fintech sectors with CPF number-matched selfie verification. The April 2026 announcement extends the product beyond Brazil to additional markets across the region, where Jumio maintains existing client relationships with major financial institutions, fintechs, and gaming companies.

selfie.DONE is powered by Jumio’s Identity Graph, a proprietary technology built from tens of millions of cross-customer, cross-industry identity transactions spanning both legitimate and fraudulent interactions. The system performs real-time biometric matching, liveness detection, fraud pattern recognition, and risk-aware reuse decisions. The selfie verification at the core of selfie.DONE relies on Jumio’s PAD Level 2-certified liveness detection, which the company upgraded its liveness detection technology last year to counter deepfakes and video injection attacks.

Jumio has operated in Latin America since 2018 and maintains a regional operations center in Barranquilla, Colombia, employing more than 400 identity professionals, alongside established deployments in Mexico and Peru through platforms including Rappi. The selfie.DONE platform operates within Jumio’s compliance framework, which covers ISO/IEC 30107-3 Level 2, ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and Brazil’s LGPD certifications. The company processes more than one billion identity transactions annually across more than 200 countries and territories.

Samer Atassi, Jumio’s Vice President for Latin America, noted at the October 2025 Brazil launch that demand for lower-friction onboarding is especially strong in Brazil’s gaming and fintech sectors, and that the company’s regional footprint would enable rapid deployment to millions of users. The product’s expansion to broader Latin America markets follows a period in which several identity verification providers have pursued reusable identity frameworks as an alternative to repeated full document verification for returning users.
