Jumio is looking to raise its profile in the Middle East. To that end, the company has established a dedicated Middle Eastern solutions portfolio, and asked Arshad Sheikh to spearhead its expansion efforts as the new Sales Leader for the entire Middle East, Turkey and North Africa (METNA) region.
Sheikh brings more than 20 years of sales and cybersecurity to his new position, gathered over the course of a career that includes prior stops at VMWare, Barracuda Networks, and TrendMicro, amongst several others. He will be expected to build relationships with new and existing clients throughout the Middle East and North Africa, though Sheikh himself will be based in Dubai.
For its part, Jumio is hoping to appeal to businesses that are looking to advance their digital transformations. The company noted that organizations in the METNA region are expected to invest more than $58 billion in digital transformation by 2025, a figure that accounts for just under half of the area’s total information technology spend. By the same token, more than 80 percent of payment providers in the region believe that they need to offer better digital services to customers to keep pace with the rate of innovation.
In that regard, Sheikh will try to highlight Jumio’s KYX Platform in his dealings with potential clients. Jumio KYX is designed for user onboarding and authentication, giving banks and other businesses a way to register new users remotely in a way that is compliant with the latest Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering regulations. The platform utilizes both face and document recognition, and guards against spoofing with iProov’s liveness detection tech.
“Most industries in the region have been swept up in the need to digitally transform their businesses,” said Jumio CRO Dean Hickman-Smith. “Jumio’s end-to-end orchestration platform, aided by our extensive partner network, will massively simplify the journey and deliver successful business outcomes across all key industry sectors.”
Jumio KYX went home with two prizes at the recent 2022 Cyber Security Global Excellence Awards. The company previously provided biometric onboarding services for Bahrain’s Bank ABC in 2019, though that deal predates the debut of Jumio KYX.
