“The partnership represents a considerable success in terms of the BIO-key’s business strategy, with two of the three ‘pillars’ of its strategy for 2018 – outlined in its year-end fiscal update – being a stronger focus on the APAC market, and an emphasis on the kinds of hardware solutions encapsulated in its TouchLock product line.”
BIO-key has acquired an apropos distribution partner for one of its newest offerings: Japan-based bicycle maker Asahi Cycle Co. will sell the company’s TouchLock Bike solution.
Launched at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, TouchLock Bike is one of the latest additions to its TouchLock line of fingerprint-scanning lock solutions, and is pretty much what it sounds like – a biometric lock designed specifically for bicycles. It’s now part of Asahi Cycle Co.’s line of bicycle accessories, and the companies will showcase it along with Asahi Cycle Co.’s newest bike model at the upcoming Lifestyle Expo Tokyo trade show.
The partnership represents a considerable success in terms of the BIO-key’s business strategy, with two of the three ‘pillars’ of its strategy for 2018 – outlined in its year-end fiscal update – being a stronger focus on the APAC market, and an emphasis on the kinds of hardware solutions encapsulated in its TouchLock product line. In a statement announcing this development, BIO-key Hong Kong Managing Director Wong Kwok Fong said, “We look forward to working with Asahi to support additional bicycle lock sales and to expand awareness of this solution across Asia.”
News of the partnership comes about a week after BIO-key announced a successful capital restructuring effort that put the company on firmer footing as it pursues its long-term strategy.
