Fingerprint Cards AB (FPC) has announced that its FPC1025 fingerprint touch sensor has been built into the newly unveiled K2 smartphone from ivvi, a Yulon and LeTV brand. The new Android smartphone featuring FPC technology has, according to FPC, already been factored into its communicated revenue guidance for 2015 of approximately 2,500 MSEK.
“ivvi is a prominent smartphone manufacturer in China and we are proud that ivvi selected FPC1025 for K2, its first smartphones integrating a touch fingerprint sensor,” said Fingerprint Cards CEO Jörgen Lantto. “FPC1025 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality.”
This most recent integration is one of many successes reported by FPC over the past summer, during which the company has announced a great number of smartphones launching with its biometric technology. The fact that ivvi is based in China will undoubtedly further bolster the sensor manufacturer’s prominent position in the region’s fingerprint biometrics market.
Today also marks the launch of the Hauwei G7 Plus in China, which is a variant on the previously announced mid-range G8 handset and therefore also sports an FPC1025 fingerprint sensor.
