ISC East: Princeton Identity VP Bob McKee Talks Iris-Based Access Control [AUDIO INTERVIEW]

Since spinning off from its parent company SRI International in 2016, Princeton Identity has established a rising profile as a provider of sophisticated iris recognition technology, not least because its solutions powered the flagship biometric authentication capabilities of Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 smartphones.

Now, the company is looking to make a bigger name for itself in the area of access control, and accordingly is showcasing its technology at the ISC East security conference in New York. There, FindBiometrics President Peter O’Neill had the opportunity to talk with Bob McKee, Princeton Identity’s VP of Sales and Marketing, on the show floor.

They start things off by addressing the rise of frictionless access control, and on that note McKee points to the “great reviews” Princeton Identity has seen for its IOM Access200 solution, which has his team “really excited about next year”. McKee also talks about the importance of distributor partnerships in Princeton Identity’s efforts to move deeper into the access control market, and of the credibility the firm has attained from its deployments with Samsung and at the Dubai International Airport, where its biometric technology is used in automated eGates.
