Iris ID has a new client – Tongrentang, a Beijing-based producer of traditional Chinese medicines.
According to Iris ID, Tongrentang was founded in 1669, and has expanded over the centuries to an enterprise that now comprises over a thousand retail outlets and even hospitals.
Within a few years, the Iris ID partnership will see 20,000 Tongrentang employees using iCAM 7000 iris scanners to clock in and out for work, with attendance reports sent to administrators via VPN connections in real time. The technology will be integrated in phases care of Inno Technologies, a Shanghai-based firm.
The deployment helps to illustrate the versatility of Iris ID’s technology which was also recently integrated into the portfolio of a military-focused tech provider, and deployed in a passenger screening system at Qatar’s Hamad International Airport.
