Iris ID will showcase its biometric technology at the National Sheriff’s Association’s Annual Conference and Exhibition later this month, the company has announced. The company aims to capitalize on the law enforcement sector’s intensifying interest in biometric identification solutions.
“Rapid and accurate identification of people is a major law enforcement need,” explained Iris ID’s North America director, Tim Meyerhoff. “There is no room for error when it comes to booking and release of those charged with crimes. And our contactless iris-based biometric systems, the most accurate on the market, are ideal as departments continue battling the COVID-19 virus.”
The company already has a strong footing in the law enforcement sector. Its OU7S-AK camera module, for example, was embraced by the County of Los Angeles for its prisoner release process last year. Iris ID’s technology has also played a role in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification program, one of the most prominent biometric databases used by law enforcement agencies across the country.
In announcing its plans for the National Sheriff’s Association’s Annual Conference and Exhibition, Iris ID highlighted three of its solutions in particular, which it said are already “widely used by law enforcement organizations”: the iCAM M300, a lightweight handheld device supporting iris, face, and fingerprint identification; the iCAM R100 reader for smart lockers and cabinets; and the iCAM 75 iris scanner for authentication.
The National Sheriff’s Association’s Annual Conference and Exhibition will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center, and will run from June 22 to June 24. Iris ID will be showcasing its wares onsite, from booth #114.
