Iris ID Biometric Tech Integrated into Smart Lockers and Cabinets

Iris ID‘s biometric technology has been integrated into another access control platform, this time in the form of cabinets and lockers.

The company has announced that its iCAM R100 iris scanner has been integrated into two product lines from Real Time Networks – namely AssetTracer Smart Lockers and KeyTracer key management cabinets. These smart cabinets and lockers can be accessed through RFID fobs, key cards, PINs, and now biometric authentication.

In a statement announcing the integrations, Iris ID sales and business development VP Mohammed Murad emphasized the contactless nature of his firm’s iris scanning technology, asserting that “it’s not affected by dirt, grease, gloves, facial hair, hats, glasses and other factors that reduce the accuracy of fingerprint and facial recognition systems.”

News of the integrations comes on the heels of Iris ID’s announcement that another of its flagship solutions, the iCAM 7S, has been integrated into AMAG Technology’s Symmetry Enterprise access control platform. The iCAM R100, meanwhile, was also recently integrated into Mentalix’s Fed Submit platform, which was announced only a couple of weeks ago.

As for the Real Time Networks integrations, they will be showcased at next week’s 2018 Global Security Exchange event in Las Vegas next week, Iris ID says, where it will be staffing booth #2143.
