IrisGuard is the latest member of the Million Lives Club (MLC). IrisGuard is an iris recognition specialist best known for its EyePay platform, while the Million Lives Club is an international group of industry innovators and entrepreneurs that highlights solutions that can have a positive impact on people’s lives on a global scale. The organization then tries to use those solutions to address various development challenges.
In that regard, EyePay has specifically been used to enable the distribution of relief funds. The UNHCR deployed the solution to identify refugees in Egypt, using biometric authentication to allow them to withdraw any cash available to them through the UNHCR. The solution raises financial inclusion because refugees do not need to provide any other supporting documents to prove their identity. It also ensures that those funds reach the intended beneficiary.
IrisGuard will join the Million Lives Club as a Vanguard member. The company is a trusted partner of the WFP and UN Women, in addition to the UNHCR and other financial institutions and NGOs. It has now provided authentication services for more than 7.8 million people, and hopes to raise that number to 12 million within the next two years.
In June, IrisGuard received ISO 30107-3 certification after clearing iBeta’s Presentation Attack Detection test. The accomplishment indicates that the company’s solution is able to thwart fraudsters that attempt spoofing attacks.
