New York-based mobile biometric identity solutions provider Ipsidy Inc. has announced that it will be providing its Proof and Verified solutions to the Peruvian region in a partnership with technology consultant IECISA.
Ipsidy’s Proof and Verified will be further enhanced with verification by RENIEC, the Peruvian National ID Registry, and have the potential to offer significant value in a region where 60 percent of the population has access to the internet and rapid digital transformation efforts are expanding the online services — in the financial, telecom, e-commerce, healthcare, and public sector markets — available to Peruvians.
“We are delighted to partner with IECISA Perú to offer our solutions in Peru and the region,” said Philip Kumnick, CEO of Ipsidy. “IECISA Perú is well known for their strength and market leadership in verticals requiring real-time identity authentication, and we believe that our combined solutions can reduce the risk of identity fraud and provide significant value to their client portfolio.”
As the reliance of remote digital transactions increases, so does the need for secure identity authentication due to a coinciding rise in the frequency and risk of cyber-crimes and identity fraud. By adding Ipsidy’s RENIEC-connected Identity as a Service (IDaaS) Proof biometric authentication solution, IECISA will enable enterprises in the Peruvian region to take advantage of the added security of mobile facial biometrics to verify the identities of their customers.
Proof uses RENIEC’s national records together with liveness detection and document recognition to verify an individual’s identity against a selfie, in order to meet remote customer onboarding needs.
For Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, Proof is able to replace manual and in-person customer verification for a variety of sectors that are increasingly relying on remote authentication including financial institutions, telco’s, medical providers, payment providers, and government agencies.
Supporting the approved credentials obtained during the Proof process, Verified by Ipsidy uses mobile biometric multi-factor authentication (MFA) to verify a customer’s identity to combat identity fraud during digital transactions like the transferring of funds or when speaking with customer support.
“With the addition of Ipsidy’s identity platform services to our suite of technology solutions, IECISA Perú is excited to be an early leader in the Peruvian and regional markets,” said Carlos Garcia of IECISA Perú. “We look forward to bringing these much-needed solutions to our clients and meeting the demand for services needed to build trust in an online digital world.”
