BPSmart has partnered with Ipsidy in an effort to prevent fraud on its Digital Assistant Platform. To that end, the company will be integrating Ipsidy’s Proof and Verified solutions into the platform to verify the identities of end users who access the Assistant.
Both Proof and Verified are biometric verification tools that rely on facial recognition. Proof is designed primarily for onboarding, and compares an image of an identity document to a selfie to make sure that the two are a match. The platform will confirm that the document is legitimate, and uses liveness detection to ensure that its owner is present for the interaction.
Verified, meanwhile, uses facial recognition to complete follow-up authentication requests. BPSmart users will be asked to take a selfie when they log into a session, and that new selfie will be compared to a template already registered with the system. The solution is intended to replace more vulnerable knowledge-based identifiers like one-time SMS codes.
The BPSmart Digital Assistant is an automated chatbot that can carry out a number of different online sales and customer service applications. The self-service platform has both text and text-to-speech capabilities, and helps organizations reduce their administrative costs while still responding to customer inquiries in a prompt and timely fashion.
“The intelligent digital assistant market is rapidly growing, and verification of an individual’s identity creates the basis of a new form of trust,” said BPSmart CEO Julio Mires. “By adding Ipsidy’s identity services to our chatbot platform, BPSmart can help our clients mitigate identity fraud while offering their customers enhanced services with the highest level of assurance.”
“Our support for BPSmart’s chatbot applications demonstrates Ipsidy’s ability to advance digital transformation efforts without the fear of identity fraud,” added Ipsidy Chairman and CEO Phillip Kumnick.
Wipro and On the Fly POS are some of the other companies that have adopted Ipsidy’s biometric onboarding technology in the past few months. Ipsidy also launched a new AuthentifID solution in February in collaboration with LoginID.
