iProov’s Anti-Spoofing Technology Gets Certified by NPL and NIST

iProov has more proof of its anti-spoofing capabilities. The company has announced that it has met the requirements for Level B ISO/IEC 30107-3 certification, which means that its facial verification technology is highly resistant to even the most aggressive presentation attacks and won’t grant access to any unauthorized individuals.

The testing was conducted by UK’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL) against standards set by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a counterpart organization. iProov’s system passed all of the tests for Level A and Level B certification, and also cleared many of the hurdles at Level C.

“The long-standing, internationally-recognised expertise of the NIST and NPL in this field is unrivalled,” said iProov Founder and CEO Andrew Bud. “We are delighted to have passed NPL’s review to achieve this level of conformance, which provides objective endorsement of our technology’s performance.”

iProov’s system previously withstood more than 600 spoofing attacks – including replay attacks – during testing with the US Department of Homeland Security, a feat that led to a contract with DHS in 2018. These latest results may help to reinforce that partnership as DHS continues to search for biometric security solutions.
