iProov Launches Verified Meetings to Check Participant Identity in Video Calls

iProov has introduced Verified Meetings, a product that confirms the identity and authenticity of participants in video calls before and during a meeting. The workforce-focused tool is positioned against AI-generated deepfakes and injection attacks in remote business interactions such as hiring, employee onboarding, account recovery, and financial approvals.

The product applies two forms of real-time analysis. It examines the video imagery to detect deepfakes and presentation attacks, and it performs hardware integrity verification to confirm that the feed originates from a physical camera rather than a virtual or injected source. Results are presented to the meeting host as a red, amber, or green status, allowing the host to see whether a participant has been verified without running a separate check outside the call. iProov delivers the capability as a native plugin for video conferencing platforms.

“Video has become the standard way of communicating for business and consumers alike, from meeting with colleagues and suppliers to hiring, onboarding, and approving financial transactions,” said Andrew Bud, Chief Executive Officer of iProov. “But organizations still largely assume that seeing a person on screen means they’re real.”

The launch extends iProov’s biometric identity verification from onboarding and authentication into live collaboration workflows, an area where remote meetings are increasingly used to make hiring and financial decisions. iProov has documented the threat it is targeting, including a video injection tool that feeds deepfake streams directly into verification apps by replacing the device camera feed.

Verified Meetings is supported by the iProov Security Operations Center (iSOC), which the company uses to provide continuous threat intelligence and adaptive defense through biometric scientists, threat intelligence analysts, and red teamers. iProov established the operations center to monitor deepfake biometric threats across its deployments.

The company has reported sharp growth in the attack types the product addresses, including a 2,665 percent year-on-year increase in native virtual-camera attacks during 2024 and a rise in face-swap exploits, drawn from its threat intelligence reporting. Verified Meetings applies the same detection approach iProov uses for one-time identity checks to the recurring problem of confirming who is actually on a call.
