iProov, a UK-based provider of biometric identity solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Biometrid, Portugal’s digital identity verification company. The collaboration aims to deliver digital identity verification solutions across Portugal and other international regions.
Founded in 2011, iProov has developed facial biometric authentication technologies including Dynamic Liveness and Express Liveness. The company’s solutions are currently used by government agencies and financial institutions in multiple countries for remote identity verification.
Biometrid operates Portugal’s identity orchestration platform, offering document validation and facial comparison services. According to company data, their platform processes over 500,000 identity verifications monthly for government agencies and financial institutions.
The partnership integrates iProov’s facial biometric technology with Biometrid’s orchestration platform. The combination aims to provide enhanced security measures against sophisticated fraud attempts, including deepfakes and spoofing attacks.
“Biometrid has established itself in digital identity verification, and this partnership expands our presence in Portugal,” said Andrew Bud, founder and CEO of iProov. “Together, we aim to help organizations implement remote identity verification while maintaining security standards.”
The collaboration addresses growing market demand for reliable digital identity solutions. According to McKinsey research, countries with robust digital identity systems could generate economic value equivalent to three to 13 percent of GDP by 2030. The partnership aims to help organizations meet regulatory requirements including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance.
