Integrated Biometrics has announced the latest offering in its Light Emitting Sensor (or “LES”) line of fingerprint sensors. Called “Danno”, it’s the world’s smallest FAP 30 fingerprint sensor device, the company says.
The sensor is only 7mm thick and weighs less than an ounce. And because it’s built on Integrated Biometrics’ LES film technology, it’s highly resistant to environmental factors such as harsh sunlight that often disrupt the operation of other fingerprint sensors.
In a statement announcing the new solution, Integrated Biometrics VP David Gerulski said that the company’s partners are already working to integrate the Danno sensor into new mobile solutions, emphasizing another key quality of the compact sensor – its low power consumption. “They’ve experienced the benefits of integrating our LES-based sensors – durability, low maintenance, low cost, ease of use,” he said. “Adding ‘lowest power consumer’ to that has cemented Danno as the most compelling choice.”
The device’s announcement comes just ahead of this week’s ID4Africa conference in Johannesburg, where Integrated Biometrics plans to debut the new solution, having just announced a new EMEA division headquartered in South Africa. The event runs from June 18th to 20th, and FindBiometrics will be there too, reporting live from the show floor.
