Integrated Biometrics’ participation in the recent ID4Africa forum in Rwanda appears to have been quite a success. The company says that it saw heavy interest in its biometrics scanner products at the event.
Taking place toward the end of last month, ID4Africa was aimed at connecting government, NGOs, and businesses in the interest of fostering ID solutions for the continent, with this year’s theme being “Digital Identity: The Practical Guide”. The provision of legal identity to citizens is a key component of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and given its importance ID4Africa was attended by representatives from organizations such as the World Bank, the French Development Agency, and the African Union.
Many stakeholders were evidently interested in the technologically sophisticated ID solutions presented by attending biometrics companies such as Integrated Biometrics. In a statement, company VP Jim Seaborn said, “There’s no question the speakers and attendees were focused on addressing issues related to biometrics for national ID and commercial programs, like mobility and funding,” later adding, “we had a substantial number of partners who were referring attendees to our booth and vice versa, the interest was incredibly high.”
That bodes well for Integrated Biometrics, which has been strengthening its focus on the African market; and it’s a promising sign for citizens on the continent too, many of whom could soon reap the benefits of Integrated Biometrics’ identity solutions.
