Integrated Biometrics Donates Kojak Scanners to Mexican Aid Organization

Integrated Biometrics technology could be used in humanitarian work thanks to a new partnership with a Mexico-based aid organization.

Una Torre de Ayuda (‘A Tower of Help’) is an arm of Mexico-based security solutions provider T.C. Vilsa. The organization reached out to Integrated Biometrics in wake of severe earthquakes that struck the country last September and again in February, seeking rugged scanning devices that could biometrically identity individuals in need of assistance. Integrated Biometrics will meet this need with its Kojak 10-fingerprint scanner, a FAP 60, FBI Appendix F certified device designed for use in the field.

In a statement announcing the partnership, Integrated Biometrics explained that “[a]id workers will use this system to verify identity as long as assistance is needed, ensuring that people who need help receive it and fraudulent requests are denied.” And what’s more, Integrated Biometrics has offered the Kojak scanners at no charge, with T.C. Vilsa CEO Luis Vidales explaining that Integrated Biometrics “donated their Kojak fingerprint scanners so that we can use more of our limited funds to help people in need rather than purchase hardware.”

The charitable assistance comes soon after Integrated Biometrics announced a new distribution partner for Brazil, pointing to a rising profile in the LATAM region for the company.
