“…it can be used not just for verifying individual identities, but for things like assessing patterns in age or gender of shoppers in a particular store, or simply counting how many people enter a building during a certain period…”
Innovatrics has announced a new, cloud-based facial recognition solution designed to support a range of applications.
Called SmartFace Server, the system is designed to enable not just facial recognition, but demographic analysis. Thus it can be used not just for verifying individual identities, but for things like assessing patterns in age or gender of shoppers in a particular store, or simply counting how many people enter a building during a certain period, since its machine vision enables it to avoid double-counting the same individual.
In a statement announcing the solution, Innovatrics says that it already has seen such deployments, as well as others concerning fraud prevention in financial services, voter registration, and even school bus security. But while its versatility is important, Innovatrics also places a strong emphasis on SmartFace Server’s ease of deployment, with company founder and CTO asserting that it “amounts to a ‘plug and play’ solution to face recognition for application developers, integrators, and IT suppliers.”
The solution represents the latest iteration of Innovatrics’ facial recognition technology after the company announced a ‘selfie login’ solution for mobile devices earlier this year.
