Innovatrics’ facial recognition tool for video surveillance can now be accessed through its ABIS web application, the company has announced.
The development comes after a major SmartFace upgrade near the start of this year that allowed the biometric surveillance platform to be scaled across a camera network of virtually any size. Now that the system can be accessed directly through the web app, Innovatrics is emphasizing its utility in police investigations.
Investigators can upload videos not only to perform instant face searches, but also to perform video searches based on parameters like the age range and gender of a particular suspect. “In conjunction with human analysis and additional investigation inputs, Innovatrics face recognition technology can reliably assist security and law enforcement officers in solving crimes and maintaining public safety,” the company explained in a statement.
The latest update also brings an enhanced user interface, allowing administrators to more easily add tags and parameters to video files. The enhanced functionality can make it even easier to perform more advanced searches on the platform, especially when using the ‘Event History’ tool to establish a particularly chronological record in a long surveillance video, such as determining each instance in which a certain individual appeared on screen throughout a given day.
Innovatrics is inviting interested parties to reach out to the company directly to learn more about how they can get access to its enhanced biometric surveillance tool.
