“The system arrives at a time when financial services institutions and other organizations are increasingly turning to mobile biometrics for user authentication.”
Innovatrics has brought its facial recognition technology to the mobile sector, announcing a new ‘selfie login’ system called IFace 3.0 Mobile.
The company says its system is able to complete the facial recognition process in only 500 milliseconds, and uses a facial library that is only 10 MB in size, helping to ensure that it won’t take up too much space when integrated on mobile apps. It’s based on the IFace 3.0 facial recognition technology announced by Innovatrics in January of this year, which the company touted as being in the top tier of speed and accuracy.
In a statement announcing the new system, Innovatrics CEO Jan Lunter said IFace 3.0 Mobile is the product of an ambition “to create a way for mobile application integrators, banks and other commercial organizations to integrate facial biometrics into their mobile applications as seamlessly as possible.”
The system arrives at a time when financial services institutions and other organizations are increasingly turning to mobile biometrics for user authentication. It also arrives amid anticipation for facial authentication features on the next major smartphones from Samsung and Apple, which should further drive market interest in such technology.
