Innovatrics has expanded its potential customer base after announcing that its Digital Ongoarding Toolkit (DOT) now offers support for Arabic. In plain terms, that means that the company’s Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology is able to recognize Arabic script, distinguishing it from other onboarding platforms that can only recognize Latin text.
The Digital Onboarding Toolkit leverages face and document recognition to remotely verify the identities of new users. In doing so, it matches a selfie of the person to the image on their photo ID. It also uses OCR to read the text on that ID and make sure the document (and the information on it) is legitimate.
The latest update will make the platform compatible with Arabic IDs, which should allow Innovatrics to make inroads in the Middle East, and in any other countries where Arabic is the official language. All of the technology in the Toolkit was developed in-house through the efforts of Innovatrics’ R&D department.
This is Innovatrics’ second major language update after the company added DOT support for the Cyrillic alphabet in May. Its liveness detection technology has since received Level 1 iBeta compliance for Presentation Attack Detection.
Innovatrics recently partnered with Credence ID and PosAm to launch new identity projects in Senegal and Slovakia, respectively. The former is utilizing Innovatrics’ technology in a patient ID program, while the latter is using it to streamline access to municipal services.
