Infinity Optics Biometric QauntumCrypt Platform Wins Frost & Sullivan Acclaim

Singapore-based Infinity Optics Solutions’ QuantumCrypt platform received the 2020 Global New Product Innovation Award from business consulting and market research firm Frost & Sullivan.

QuantumCrypt removes the need to store and encrypt biometric templates captured from iris, face and fingerprint images, which could make it more cost-effective and suitable for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

“The QuantumCrypt platform allows iris, fingerprint, and 2D/3D facial images to generate biometric codes, also known as True Biometric Hash technology,” said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Nandini Bhattacharya. “These codes act as key management solutions, such as blockchain-based identity.”

QuantumCrypt is capable of verifying or revoking biometric data at any time during a transaction, making it more secure as the biometric information is never stored and is therefore less likely to be targeted by hackers, while also making it ideal for use with cloud-based biometric solutions and authentication processes.

Infinity’s single-lens technology can capture Depth of Field (DOF) images at a distance between 150mm and 600mm with a single element lens thanks to custom optics and image processing capabilities allowing for extended DOF iris authentication technology. The company has also developed QuantumCrypt modules for fingerprint, 2D face, and iris recognition and says that 3D facial recognition is currently in the works.

“Infinity has taken the biometrics industry forward by transforming the way biometric authentication has traditionally been achieved,” said Bhattacharya, adding that “[t]he EDOF technology by Infinity makes iris recognition solutions much more user friendly, thereby creating huge opportunities for mobile device-based applications where mobile phone cameras can be used for iris recognition.”
