HR management solutions provider Infinisource has released a new biometric employee attendance-tracker to kick off its new NXG series of time clocks. The G2 time clock sports a colour touch screen, dual USB ports allowing for barcode scanner and keyboard plug-in, plug-and-play setup, and most importantly, a built-in finger scanner for employee identification and authentication. The device also employs iSolved’s OnDemand software, allowing seamless integration of relevant data and information.
Speaking in a press release, Infinisource’s President of Employer Services, Product and Technology, Todd LaFever, pointed to the extra convenience and efficiency offered by biometric attendance-tracking solutions. “It’s critical for today’s small to midsize employers to use biometric options for time and attendance,” adding that employers who use such technology are “easily able to review accurate data and reports for staffing and budgets.”
This kind of technology is increasingly prevalent in employee-tracking applications. While it is effective at cutting down timesheet fraud, it’s more often touted as a time-saver, allowing for greater organizational efficiency. Meanwhile, India’s government is using it to improve government transparency, making its biometric attendance data publicly available. As the technology becomes more advanced and inexpensive, it’s sure to become even more widespread, given its obvious benefits.
