Indonesia will roll out a limited release of its new digital government platform, INA Digital, later this month. The release includes three core services: INA Ku (public service portal), INA Gov (government administration portal), and INA Pas (digital identity system).
The INA Ku portal will offer citizens access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and social support, while INA Gov will streamline administrative tasks for civil servants.
INA Pas will provide citizens with a single sign-on gateway for accessing various government services. Led by INA Digital, the initiative aims to simplify access to public services by integrating all applications into a centralized portal.
Users will register for INA Pas through a secure process involving facial recognition and liveness detection to verify their identity, and will link to citizens’ existing identity numbers and allow civil servants to manage administrative tasks. The platform operates on the existing IKD infrastructure managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Directorate General of Population and Civil Registry (Dukcapil).
IKD, or Identitas Kependudukan Digital (Digital Population Identity), is Indonesia’s digital identity system designed to provide citizens with accessible and efficient public services through a smartphone application.
While only 3.8 percent of the population had activated IKD as of June, officials are optimistic about increased adoption through integrations with services like SATUSEHAT, a digital health records platform that has over 100 million users. The government is promoting IKD adoption through public education campaigns and collaborations with state and private companies.
In the initial phase, 50,000 users will participate in the trial, including 10,000 civil servants and 40,000 public users. Feedback from these participants will help improve the system before its full release. The Indonesian government aims to reduce standalone applications and increase the transparency and efficiency of public services through digitization.
