Another round of independent testing has confirmed the considerable speed of biometric matching technology DERMALOG, and demonstrates that the Hamburg-based company has improved its iris recognition algorithm.
The testing comes by way of the German company’s compatriot, SGS-TÜV Saar, an industrial auditing and quality testing firm, which has found that DERMALOG’s iris recognition solution can match 25 million eyes per second. That’s a considerable improvement over the matching speed of 8.5 million per second that SGS-TÜV Saar found about a year ago.
The results arrive soon after SGS-TÜV Saar testing earlier this year that found that DERMALOG’s fingerprint matching technology could produce 3.6 billion matches per second, and another round of SGS-TÜV Saar testing that found DERMALOG’s face biometrics system could produce about a billion matches per second.
In a statement announcing these latest findings concerning its iris matching technology, DERMALOG CEO Gunther Mull emphasized his firm’s multimodal success in SGS-TÜV Saar’s biometric testing. “The fact that multiple biometric features can be compared in record time also proves our leading role in multimodal biometrics, which is becoming increasingly important.”
