Imprivata is looking to extend its reach in the Middle East after entering into a distribution agreement with Emerging Global Technologies (EGT). EGT is based in Abu Dhabi, and will work to market Imprivata’s digital identity solutions to healthcare providers throughout the region.
The two companies noted that the Middle Eastern demand for healthcare technologies has increased in the past few years. MENA Research Partners has valued the market in Gulf Cooperation Council countries at $94 billion, with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates accounting for a full two-thirds of that total. The strong forecast can be attributed to the region’s rising population, income levels, and life expectancy.
Imprivata’s digital identity solutions help streamline the patient intake process while simultaneously providing secure access control for healthcare employees. In that regard, the company called particular attention to its Digital Identity Framework, which debuted in August and allows clients to map out and implement a comprehensive identity strategy across an entire organization. The solution is compliant with Saudi Arabia’s Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC) and the UAE’s National Cyber Security Standards (NCSS).
“We are excited to provide faster and more secure access to healthcare records while adhering to international and local standards,” said EGT CEO Sassine Mazraani. “These solutions will streamline clinical workflows to aid the delivery of efficient, high-quality care in an increasingly decentralised healthcare environment, enabling healthcare professionals to stay focused on improving patient care.”
“The collaboration will enable Imprivata to extend coverage within the region and offer our award-winning Authentication and Digital Identity solutions, backed with the sales, technical expertise, and respected track record of Emerging Global Technologies,” added Imprivata international Channels Director Chris Nutty.
Imprivata has argued that contactless identification technologies can lead to better healthcare outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company recently partnered with Keyo to release a touchless version of its PatientSecure palm vein recognition offering.
