ImageWare has partnered with the Safe-T Group to create a new Zero Trust Network Access solution. The solution combines Safe-T’s ZoneZero platform with ImageWare Authenticate, and is being billed as the first Zero Trust Network Access product based on biometric technologies.
In that regard, ZoneZero is a Perimeter Access management tool that allows organizations to grant access to different resources on a need-to-know basis. In plain terms, that means that employees will only be allowed to view the materials that they need to do their jobs, and cannot access to more sensitive materials until they have received permission.
ImageWare Authenticate will be used for identity verification. The platform offers support for multiple biometric modalities, including face and palm recognition. Employees will need to use one of those modalities to prove their identity before using corporate resources, either on-premises or remotely through the cloud. Thanks to ZoneZero, they will not be able to access unapproved materials, even after completing the biometric authentication process.
The two companies suggested that the new offering was developed in response to COVID-19, and the remote work environment that emerged during the pandemic. The new solution allows customers to adjust their security requirements based on the level of risk, and to enforce stricter protocols for people signing in with unknown devices.
“To safeguard corporate infrastructure in today’s dispersed work environment, companies require increased span across services, precise user identification, and a risk assessment of the connecting devices,” said Safe-T Co-Founder and Corporate Development VP Eitan Bremler.
“Virtual private networks and passwords are no longer effective in securing access to data and services,” added ImageWare CEO and Chair Kristin Taylor. “The addition of biometric authentication to Zero Trust provides an additional layer of security through precise identification while also improving the user experience with quick, contactless authentication.”
ImageWare Authenticate is the rebranded version of GoVerifyID. The company itself has been looking to boost sales with a series of executive hires in 2021, including a new CFO and a new VP of Go-To-Market and Portfolio Strategy.
