Imageware and Four Points Renew Partnership with Department of Veteran Affairs

Imageware has landed a $2.7 million licensing deal with the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). The contract was secured in collaboration with Four Points Technology, which is once again acting as an Imageware partner and a reseller of Imageware technology.

The contract itself covers a three-year period, divided into one base year with two additional one-year options. During that period, Imageware and Four Points will be providing software and support services for the VA’s Personal Identification Verification (PIV) card program. Imageware will specifically be leasing the technology needed to turn those PIV cards into secure biometric credentials, which can then be issued to VA contractors and employees.

The PIV cards are designed primarily for access control at VA facilities, with Imageware CEO Kristin Taylor indicating that the company will be carrying out more than 1 million installations with the federal government. The deal was signed under Four Point’s NASA SEWP V contract to support the PIV program, and builds on the two companies’ prior relationship with the VA. In that regard, Imageware and Four Points have been providing biometric authentication and access control software for the VA for more than a decade.

Imageware is currently in the midst of a strategic review as it works to bolster its bottom line. The company’s Authenticate solution has also been listed on the FirstNet App Catalog for first responders.
